Despite last season's storms, CARS is thriving with an optimistic outlook to assist residents of coastal Lousiana in storm preparedness, recovery, and restoration. A Brief History of the Coastal Area Research Station The Coastal Area Research Station was established in 1948 on approximately 100 acres of land.
