WELCOME TO HILL FARM RESEARCH STATION
11959 Highway 9 · Homer, LA · 71040
Phone: (318) 927-2578 · Fax: (318) 927-9505

Pine trees, poultry, beef cattle and forage crops share space on the Hill Farm Research Station, located in the rolling hill area of north central Louisiana near the Arkansas border. Poultry demonstration houses on the station allow researchers to find more efficient ways to raise chickens. Researchers also look at ways to help reduce beef cattle production costs. Timber is the top crop in the region, and station projects include improved genetics of loblolly pines, soil fertilization, land diversity and biofuels. Station scientists also conduct research on minimizing nutrient runoff from land and protecting water quality.
