Jones-Idlewild Research Station near Clinton, Louisiana. These deer are more than picturesque; they’re part of the research effort at this facility. Scientists work to improve genetics and control disease of deer. Other research focuses on controlling aquatic weeds, such as giant salvinia. About 50 of the 1,800 acres at the station are devoted to peach breeding and blueberry studies.
