Four-flap Grafting Method

[Image: Matching the scion wood to the tree.]
[Image: Make four vertical cuts evenly spaced through the bark]
[Image: Carefully cut off the inner core of the tree leaving just the flaps of bark.]
[Image: Match up the cuts on the scion to the flaps on the tree as close as possible.]
[Image: Wrap grafting tape around the tree from the bottom to the top of the flaps covering all cuts that made on the tree and scion.]
[Image: Cut the tree above the point where the graft will be made.]
[Image: Peeling back the bark to the bottom of the cuts.]
[Image: Make four cuts on the scion removing the bark to match up to the flaps on the tree.]
[Image: Use the rubberband to hold the flaps in place against the scion.]
