Interstate 69 realigned to avoid LSU AgCenter Pecan Station
(Distributed 05/25/09) The LSU AgCenter Pecan Research-Extension Station in Shreveport will not be affected by the alignment of Interstate 69 in southern Caddo Parish after all, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD).

Pecan seminar helps growers prepare for 2008
The LSU AgCenter Pecan Research and Extension Station in Shreveport hosted a seminar on pecan growing on Feb. 28, 2008, which was attended by 35 growers.

(Distributed 05/23/08) The LSU AgCenter’s annual field day and open house at the Pecan Research-Extension Station will be Friday, June 13.

2008 Pecan Show Results
The 2008 Louisiana State Pecan Show made an excellent exhibit at Ag Expo in West Monroe January 18-19, 2008. Nearly 100 entries representative of 28 named varieties and 29 native/seedlings were judged to determine class and division winners. Pecan Show winners are listed.

Producers learn how to grow pecans and manage pecan orchards at the nation's No. 1 – and only – Pecan Research and Extension Station, which is located in Shreveport.

The Pecan Research-Extension Station held it's annual field day on September 14, 2006. Field day guests were taken on a tour of the Station in which they heard the lastest activities, research, and findings being conducted and discovered at the Station.
