The LSU AgCenter’s annual field day and open house at the Pecan Research Station will be Friday, June 13.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch. The event ends at 4 p.m.
Tours and equipment exhibits will be representative of the research programs at the station. Station faculty and staff will be available to discuss their research and answer questions.
Topics to be presented by the faculty include pesticide usage and safety, Dr. John Pyzner; thinning of the pathology orchard and management of pecan bacterial leaf scorch disease, Dr. Randy Sanderlin; thinning of the rootstock orchard and influence of rootstock on pecan production; and pecan insect control, Dr. Mike Hall.
