Southeast Research Station keeps Louisiana’s dairy industry kicking

Louisiana’s got milk because the LSU AgCenter supports a research program that helps keep the Louisiana dairy industry surviving and thriving. In 2007, Louisiana had 207 dairy operations that contributed nearly $200 million to the state’s economy. The concentration of dairy research is at the LSU AgCenter’s Southeast Research Station in Franklinton.

LSU AgCenter Forage Quality Laboratory [Image: Laboratory]
The LSU AgCenter Forage Quality Laboratory is at the Southeast Research Station near Franklinton, La. Louisiana and Mississippi forage and livestock producers are invited to send samples of feed and forage for analyses (See "See Forage Lab Fees" for costs).

Forage Lab Fees
The fees charged by the laboratory are provided. All routine analyses will be conducted by NIR unless results are outside maximum standard deviation.
