The Southeast Research Station helps Louisiana’s dairy industry survive and thrive. The station is at the center of the dairy-producing region of both Louisiana and Mississippi and through a memorandum of understanding serves both states. The facility is a state-of-the-art dairy operation with the latest in time-saving, cost-saving equipment. A primary research focus is improving feed quality at the lowest cost so the cows get the nutrition they need to produce the optimum level of milk. Another research focus is getting maximum benefit from animal waste without harming the environment.
