The LSU AgCenter held its sixth annual 4-H Day at the Capitol June 5, and officials said it continues to be a popular event with young people and legislators from across the state. Approximately 800 to 1,000 4-H’ers and volunteer leaders from across Louisiana traveled to Baton Rouge for the 2007 activities – which included a rally on the Capitol steps, meetings with legislators, learning more about the legislative process, touring the Capitol and seeing the legislature in action. In addition, state 4-H officers and board members were honored June 4 with a dinner at the Governor’s Mansion and were introduced in legislative chambers the afternoon of June 5.
