(Radio News 11/24/08) Some sugarcane growers burn their cane to reduce the amount of leafy material that gets harvested and delivered with the cane to the mills. Burning helps reduce the costs of harvest, but LSU AgCenter sugarcane specialist Dr. Ben Legendre says it is becoming less common because of problems that can occur. Primary Audience:
